Terms of Use (EULA)
These Terms of Use (EULA) explain the rules for using Vault, including accounts, receipt uploads, AI extraction, warranty reminders, and Australian Consumer Law protections.
1. Agreement And Eligibility
These Terms and Conditions are between you and Vault / techmanpat. By creating an account, accessing, or using Vault, you agree to these Terms and to any policies linked from the service.
Vault is intended for people who are at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. If you use Vault on behalf of a household or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to upload and manage its receipts, item records, and account settings.
If you use Vault through an Apple or Google app store, the applicable app-store terms may also apply to your download, subscription, billing, and device use. Vault’s service terms still apply to your account, content, data, and use of the Vault service.
2. The Vault Service
Vault helps you capture, store, organise, search, and manage receipts and product records. It may also help estimate warranty periods, track expiry dates, send reminders, and keep household purchase records easier to find.
Vault is a record-keeping and reminder tool. It does not replace the original retailer, manufacturer, insurer, repairer, legal adviser, accountant, or any official warranty or consumer-law process.
You are responsible for checking whether a receipt, product record, warranty date, reminder, export, or other Vault output is accurate and suitable for your purpose before relying on it.
3. Accounts, Households, And Security
You must provide accurate account information, keep your login details secure, and promptly tell us if you become aware of unauthorised access or suspicious activity.
Vault may allow household-level access so more than one person can manage shared purchase records. You are responsible for the content and settings you add or change, and for ensuring invited users are allowed to access the relevant household information.
We may use email verification, password reset links, device sessions, and other security controls to protect accounts. You must not attempt to bypass those controls or use another person’s account without permission.
4. Receipts, Item Records, And Your Content
You retain ownership of receipts, images, item records, notes, folders, categories, and other content you upload, forward, scan, enter, edit, confirm, or save in Vault.
You grant us a limited licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, analyse, back up, and otherwise handle your content as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, support, and improve Vault.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload content to Vault. Do not upload content that is unlawful, misleading, harmful, confidential without authority, infringing, malicious, or unrelated to your legitimate use of Vault.
Vault is not a guaranteed archive. You should keep original receipts, tax records, warranty documents, or other evidence where required by a retailer, manufacturer, insurer, government agency, or law.
5. AI Extraction And Warranty Information
Vault may use automated tools and AI services to read receipts, identify products, estimate warranty dates, suggest categories, summarise information, or help you review records faster.
AI and automated results can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. You must review and confirm extracted details, warranty dates, prices, retailer names, item names, model numbers, serial numbers, and any other important information before saving or relying on them.
Warranty estimates are provided for convenience only. Vault does not decide whether a claim will be accepted, whether a product is covered, or whether your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law apply.
Reminders and notifications are helpful prompts, not guarantees. Delivery may depend on your account settings, device settings, email provider, push-notification permissions, network access, and third-party services.
6. Subscriptions, Plans, And Billing
Vault may offer free and paid plans. Free plans may include limits such as a maximum number of saved items. Paid plans may include expanded limits or additional features while the subscription is active.
Subscription prices, inclusions, renewal periods, and billing providers are shown at the point of purchase or in your account settings. Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled in accordance with the applicable billing provider’s rules.
Purchases made through Apple, Google, Stripe, or another billing provider are also subject to that provider’s payment, cancellation, refund, and subscription-management terms. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
If a paid subscription ends, existing content may remain available subject to these Terms, but new uploads or item creation may be limited until you resubscribe or reduce your saved items within the free-plan limit.
Unless required by law or the relevant billing provider’s policy, fees already paid are not refundable merely because you stop using Vault, forget to cancel, or no longer need the service.
7. Acceptable Use
You must use Vault lawfully, respectfully, and only for its intended personal, household, or permitted business record-keeping purposes.
You must not misuse Vault, interfere with its operation, reverse engineer or scrape it, overload it, introduce malware, bypass limits or security controls, access data you are not authorised to access, or use Vault to harm another person or system.
You must not upload fake, deceptive, infringing, unlawful, or harmful content, or use Vault to make fraudulent warranty, insurance, refund, tax, or consumer claims.
We may investigate activity that appears to breach these Terms, threaten security, create operational risk, or expose Vault, users, or third parties to legal or technical harm.
8. Privacy And Data Handling
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect personal information in connection with Vault.
By using Vault, you understand that receipt images and purchase records may contain personal information and may be processed by service providers that help us provide hosting, authentication, storage, email, analytics, support, push notifications, and AI extraction.
Privacy questions can be sent to patryk@techmanpat.com. Support questions can be sent to patryk@techmanpat.com.
9. Availability, Changes, And Third-Party Services
We aim to keep Vault reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent access. Maintenance, updates, internet outages, app-store issues, device settings, provider incidents, or events outside our control may affect availability.
Vault relies on third-party services for functions such as hosting, authentication, storage, payment processing, email, push notifications, analytics, and AI processing. Their systems, limits, outages, security controls, and terms may affect your use of Vault.
We may change, suspend, remove, or add features where reasonably necessary for security, compliance, product improvement, operational reliability, or business reasons.
10. Account Deletion, Suspension, And Termination
You may stop using Vault at any time. Vault may also provide self-service account deletion, which can permanently delete your account and owned household data, subject to technical limits and lawful retention requirements.
Deleting the app from a device does not automatically delete your Vault account, cancel a subscription, or remove stored data. You may need to delete your account in Vault and cancel any active subscription with the relevant billing provider.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create security or legal risk, misuse Vault, fail to pay required fees, or if we are required to do so by law or a provider.
After termination or deletion, some information may remain in backups, logs, financial records, security records, or other systems for a limited period where reasonably necessary or legally required.
11. Australian Consumer Law, Disclaimers, And Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right, guarantee, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
Subject to those non-excludable rights, Vault is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not promise that Vault will be error-free, that AI or warranty information will be accurate, that reminders will always arrive, or that stored records will satisfy any retailer, manufacturer, insurer, tax, legal, or government requirement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or economic loss, loss of data, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, or loss caused by your failure to verify records, keep original documents, maintain account security, or comply with third-party requirements.
Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to the remedies permitted by applicable law, which may include resupplying the service or paying the cost of resupply.
12. Indemnity, Changes, And Governing Law
You agree to take responsibility for losses, claims, costs, or expenses that arise from your unlawful use of Vault, your breach of these Terms, your content, or your misuse of receipt or warranty information, except to the extent caused by our negligence, breach, or unlawful conduct.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be available on this page with its effective date. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will take reasonable steps to notify you through Vault, email, or another appropriate channel.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
